Ilford was founded in 1879 in the English town of the same name. They are B&W royalty in the photography industry thanks to their 140-year heritage and their support for photographers with chemicals and development as well as film. In the mid-20th Century they produced several well-regarded camera lines (including one given to Princess Elizabeth that was later stolen!) but today they are focused on producing the best films and development processes that they can.

An excellent film which delivers consistent results. Easy to develop, it is a good starting point for who approach film photography from scratch. But HP5+ is a very good emulsion which delivery good result also when pushed, so perfect for the more experienced photographer.
Consistently beautiful results, a reliable B&W film which will get the best out of your camera everytime
Took a few rolls of this on holiday recently and couldn't be please more with the results. Grain was at a very balanced level. Then with the 3rd film I went out late at night and pushed it to 3200 as I hadn't taken any Delta with me due to airport scanners. The results from the pushed film were superb and comparable to Delta.
All in all HP5 was a perfect all round film, suitable for use in any conditions and easily pushed to 3200.
One of the best selling films on the market for good reason. Shoot anywhere from 200 to 6400, develop in just about anything, all lighting conditions, all subjects, from beginners to pros. Equally at home in either an enlarger or a scanner, HP5 is like a best mate that never lets you down.
Absolutely beautiful B&W film, Ilford’s answer to Tri-X. Plenty of superb grain and lots of latitude, I tend to shoot at box speed (400 ISO) but perfectly capable to be pushed all the way up to 3200 ISO. Always had wonderful results and would totally recommend to any photographer, beginner or experienced alike.
