Kentmere 400 - 35mm Film - 24 exp
Our Price: £3.80 GBP100193
A great starter-film for people trying 35mm film photography for the first time. The soft backing allows for easy scanning, the images will have medium contrast and fine grain, and its mid-speed rating means it can be used in a variety of lighting situations.

Kentmere was a small black-and-white film manufacturer based in the Lake District for many years. It was acquired by Ilford's parent company in 2007, who consolidated production in their Mobberley plant. The brand exists as a more-affordable alternative to Ilford, with the same quality and consistency of production but with savings made in the emulsion chemicals.

Love the range of this film, shot at 400 and very impressed with the ability to keep detail in highlights and shadows. I didn’t find the grain to be an issue at all. Blacks are not as deep as other films, and not as contrasty as others, but that isn’t a problem, the results are still great. Worked well in both low light and bright conditions. Will buy again.
I got this on offer and took a punt on it. I usually shoot fp5. Overall I was happy with the film, I developed it in Hydrofen and the results were nice.
Customer service was great and packaged up very nicely.
For someone new to home processing using this film and developing in lab box with monobath confirms how simple it can be.....
I mainly bought this film as a way to film test my cameras but was blown away by the quality. Its useful in all scenarios and is a great starter film as well as a practical go to. I'd recommend it to anyone considering film photography.
When I got this film developed back from the lab I was thoroughly pleased, it add just enough grain to not be distracting from some images while adding emotion to others. This dynamic film being rated at ISO 400 means that you are more than likely to get a shot that is not under/over exposed in a "normal" lighting conditions which is why I labeled this film good for travel, to highlight it's diverse usage. Plus, with all of this for being under a fiver you cannot go wrong getting this film, I hope K400 becomes a staple film for me and I recommend anyone to try this film for such a low price.
