Kodak - properly known as Kodak Eastman - was founded in America in 1888 and dominated the "Western" world of photography for the next 100 years, constantly in fierce rivalry with the Japanese Fuji. Similarly to Fuji the advent of digital photography at the turn of the century caused significant financial problems. A late attempt to win in the compact market was hit by the rise of mobile photography and bankruptcy followed in 2012. Fortunately the photography business has survived under the Kodak Alaris name - based in Hertfordshire, England - and they have delighted the analogue industry by pledging continued support for film production and the promise of bringing back old favourite emulsions.

Bright and forgiving

This is my favourite of the "budget" colour films, no matter what the conditions, this film has a great way of brightening the image and making it look lovely! And it's highly affordable, despite the price increases!

36 frame to frame!

Gold is always a pleasure to shoot with, rarely do I feel like I chose a lesser film when it's loaded and ready!
Seeing the warmth of colours and rich saturation is never old when we're blessed with some good weather to get the most of this films tones.

Good Retro Looking Colour Film

I love this colour film, has a really nice 90's look if paired with a similar aged SLR. Lots of character, good for beginners and people getting into colour photography. (Photo taken with a KR10-Super).

Cheap Cheerful and a Gold Standard of film

Whenever I want to test out a new camera it's my go to. A beautiful all rounder film, that gives enough grain and colour to really stand out among more expensive stock. It's cheap yet the results are always banging, I teach my friends to shoot film using it and so far so good.

I've even shot a small film on my Fuji Rensha using it.

Lovely Kodak film with good colours and a bit of a vintage look

Great all round Kodak film that I used in a variety of lighting conditions - inside a railway station to out on the street. Exposed really well with that classic Kodak colour. The 'gold' that it adds to the shots adds warmth and to me a bit of a vintage look. For an all-round colour film will be using again
