Ilford XP2 Super is a high-speed, fine-grained beauty of a 35mm film - and most importantly it is processed via the normal colour process which is offered as same-day development in many high-street shops!

A useful chemical trick from Ilford with significant benefits for XP2's effective exposure latitude

Ilford was founded in 1879 in the English town of the same name. They are B&W royalty in the photography industry thanks to their 140-year heritage and their support for photographers with chemicals and development as well as film. In the mid-20th Century they produced several well-regarded camera lines (including one given to Princess Elizabeth that was later stolen!) but today they are focused on producing the best films and development processes that they can.

best black and white film

recently shot a few rolls off this and even developed it in black and white chemicals (rodinal 1+100 for 45min) and it still turns out great
don't be afraid off it having to be C41 processed just do it like any other black n white film and you get great results still

Brilliant black and white film

Shot on a Pemtax Me super. First time using this film and loved it. Quite an easy film to use and the convenience of getting it developed is amazing. Would recommend to anyone who uses any other ilford fil.

Wonderful for portraits.

At 400 speed, it's so flexible. And the grain is great for smoothing out skin.

Xp 2 Underrated

This is my favourite black and white film!

Great dynamic range, works well overexposed, nice contrast and I especially like pushing this film 2 stops to 1600 in both 35mm and 120 formats!
