The only choice for colour reversal Super 8

I've been a Super 8 fan for a while, since Kodachrome was still around! This new Ektachrome is really nice if you get the exposure right. I'd recommend going 1 stop over whatever the meter says, despite it being slide film. If you do, it really sings. Invest in a decent meter and use manual exposure settings, and start showing home movies the old fashioned way! Love it! Wish it were cheaper...

Good but a challenge

Often touted as the best super 8 film money can buy, I found my first experiment with this film to have produced mixed results. I have shot reversal super 8 before (kodak Tri-X) and didn't have any problems with exposure or grain. However with this film there were massive problems with underexposure, and it seems to have very high grain under a 2k scan. However, when loaded into a projector, the grain adds to the character and the colours of this classic emulsion give you a fantastic vintage feel. If you are looking to project in colour, this is your film, however due to my results from this film in Istanbul (see the Hagia Sofia in the sample shot) I will be continuing to use vision 3 or triX films, as they seem to be far more versatile and forgiving for the average novice super 8 user. The only advice I can give is to overexpose this film by a stop, or shoot if your sole intention is to project it.
