Washi F is a special "Fluorographic" medical X-Ray film that is mainly used in Eastern countries for diagnosing lung diseases.
It combines the nice aesthetic of X-Ray films with the physical property of classic camera film. As there is no anti-halation layer it gives a very strong diffusion effect and high grain.

Amazing contrast
A bit fiddly, but the ones that came out came out REALLY good. Love the heavy contrast and the grain, have bought another roll so I can really experiment.
Truthfully I wasn’t expecting much from Washi F but to say I’m pleasantly surprised is an understatement.
I shot in bright dappled sunlight and got near infrared images. I shot at box speed and developed in Rodinal at 1:25 for 9 mins.
I definitely recommend giving it a go.

More forgiving than I thought!
First timer on a Nikon F80/LensBaby Edge 80 lens.
To be honest, I was nervous to load this film, and it was the only Washi I could use with my Nikon. I was aware of the light piping and all, and I managed to screw things up during loading - user error; I had to unwind the film back to its roll in a not so subdued light, so I thought that's it, I won't have too many shots from it. But it turned out quite decent! I even took it abroad, so it went through the x-ray scan twice.
I shot it in various lighting conditions, from daylight to a very dark indoors of an aquarium.
This is a very good combination with the Edge 80 lenses; it can give you this dreamy mood, where the light sources have that shiny quality thanks to removed anti-halo layer.
I will definitely come back to it (and load it more carefully to get all my 36 shots. I managed 26 this time) and try to experiment more.
Love it!
