Nice colours, but other films are better

I have used this film a few times. Its a lovely film, lovely muted colours so I didn't find it as vibrant as other similar films, but I feel other are better, including the Kodak Portra 400, but definitely worth having a roll or two in your stock pile.

A bit muted

I guess that's what happens when you shoot an expired film... Nevertheless, results came out alright. It's just lacks this certain punch, in terms for colours.

Expired

With films like that you have to be really careful... It has this expired film look. It's nice to look at, but at the same time, there are better films than this quality and price wise.

3 stars

I think this roll was expired as the grain was pretty strong and the colours were pretty muted in comparison to other peoples results. But not bad!

The packaging says it all

It's the same thing as with Kodak Ultramax 400: the colours of the packaging reflect how the film renders colours. Expect vibrant greens leaning a bit towards cyan and quite a lot of purple colour cast, especially on a cloudy day. It is a great choice if you're looking for a a high quality alternative to Kodak Portra 400 but less warm. Or it rather was an alternative as it's been discontinued and these days it's a luxury good you can keep in the fridge and re-sale with profit. But it's really a better idea to just go out and take photos on it!
