Fuji Acros 100

Let me start by saying I have been a massive fan of Fuji's Velvia for years in both 120 and 5x4 sheet film but B&W has always been filled by Ilford's products. So when I had the oppertunity to test out a new (to me) Bronica EC Camera I thought why not give Fuji's Acros a go! Well I shot 2 rolls down on the Dorset coast in early February the weather was most faverable with clear bright days that wernt even that cold! The results were a revalation ! I love the crisp fine detail, the strong Blacks and clear detailed highlights that suit my favored style of landscape photography. I have to say this film will be in my kit bag allongside a rol or two of Velvia from now on! All of my shots are 'as shot' un adjusted scans.

Didn't think i'd like it, but I did ( a lot) :D ..

very surprised that I liked this film as much as I did , has more contrast than I thought , could structure and build characteristics , does well in mid day sun , eg well controlled highlights and shadows , good amount of dynamic rage , pretty sharp if that matters to you , develops well Rodinal 1:100 1hour development ... :). draw out those mid tones y'all

Sooooo much detail!

This was my first time shooting with this film. It's not cheap and I thought it couldn't really justify the price when there are so many excellent black and white films out there at half the cost.

On initially looking at the scans they looked a bit flat. But as soon as I started playing with the contrast and tones in Lightroom I could see why this emulsion is rated highly. It has bags of detail and loads of latitude. I could really manipulate the tones to get the look I wanted whilst keeping detail in the shadows and highlights.

Stunning film. And particularly good for landscapes. I'm definitely sold on it!

Very sharp, great tones

I'm pretty new to film, but I was really shocked at how much resolution you can get from this one. If you like my shots hit me up on IG @tjholowaychukbw

Give it plenty of light.

First time out with the new Acros II and my results have been varied. The better images have been shot where there is more light - in the winter twilight, I found the shots to be unremarkable. With more light, however, the contrast and character is much better. Not sure if I'm quite ready for this film.
