Almost Digital

My first roll of slide film was Ektachrome in 120. The results are *almost* like digital, very clean and yet the colours are beautiful. Very natural looking with a hint of desaturation.

Great colours!

My first time using Slide film and I was not disappointed with the results. A lovely film that photographs well with lots of colours, really brings out reds, pinks and greens when exposed correctly.

Winter Positives

As a rookie photographer back in the 80s, I shot a lot of colour slides, especially Kodachrome. That may have gone to the great darkroom in the sky, but the joy of holding a colour slide in your hand still remains-especially if it's medium or large format. Slides have a glow and vibrancy about them unmatched by anything else. Having used E100 (and 200!) before, I was keen to try this one out. I loaded up my trusty Rolleicord and went for a wander on a sunny February day (yes they do happen). The colours of the winter landscape were monochromatic, but the E100 injected a dose of pep and punch as I hoped. This film is quality and a big improvement on its early 80s counterpart...I'm not missing Kodachrome so much now and will definitely shoot more E100 in future (but I'll never forget the King).

Good but a challenge

Really love this film, and can give better results and tones than portra when you nail the exposure, not to mention the joy of getting the positives back. However the difficulty in getting the exposure right makes me lack confidence when using this film especially in difficult light.
