I was expecting something a little different here, a film to give what we think of as reality a few twists. The Washi F didn't disappoint and sprinkled a little bit of fairy dust on the woodland landscapes around an early autumn pond. The lack of an antihalation layer does all kinds of randomly interesting things and I'm looking forward to exploring the film's potential for portraits and urban landscapes

Most of the black and white film stocks available on the market look quite similar to each other. But not this one! Washi F is a film like no other. High contrast, extreme grain for a 100 ISO film and the beautiful glow effect around highlights will give your photos the post-apocalyptic look. It's definitely not for everyone so check sample photos before purchasing!

With this being a relatively new film and not many views I wasn't sure what to expect, but having used many other of Lomig's films I was confident id get some good results.

The film was used in my Pentax 645 on a sunny day so as best to get the halos from this films lack of anti halation layer, this effect is hard to pre judge but when it works, it works.

The only downside I found was scanning it in as the film did not want to sit in my Epson V550 holders but with a bit of perseverance it scanned fine

This is a film that requires some thought and care to get good results.
I took this out on what was forecast to be an overcast and drizzly day. The day turned into a bright sunny day and possibly not the best conditions for this film. dappled lighting and high contrast scenes are not for this film unless you are looking for that specific look.

I can see this film being used under more controlled lighting or overcast days with better results.
The grain is very visible for an ISO100 film but imparts something into the image.
The lack of anti-halation layer also gives a very noticeable glow to the highlights.

This is not a film I would recommend for every day use or for Beginners. I also feel that it will take a few rolls to get to know the characteristics of this film and how best to use it.
Not a bad film but one that requires some time and effort as well as the right conditions.

This looked like an interesting film to try. I shot the images using a bronica S2a 2 1/4 square camera using a seconic profi six to measure exposure. I seem to have nailed this and I am really impressed by the tonal range obtained in the negs. It is a great film to work with and developing in D76 1:1 for 11 min gives the results obtained.
