Nice black and white film

First time using the 35mm version of that film, I have shot a couple of 120 and liked the results so I thought I would try it in 135. The results didn't disappoint I like the grain as well as the contrast. It was a bit of a fast film for a sunny situation but it handled the scenes very well in normal exposure without under exposing it. Suitable for a wide range of subjects.

Great Black and White for cheap, great look

Fun fact, apparently foma 400 is near infrared sensitive,(did not try this round will hope i might be able to)
The filmstock is great, the grain is punchy but its not in your face, and the contrast it delivers is very pleasing while being crunchy.
Great and flexible film in my opinion, would highly reccomend!

Decent B&W at 400

I normally shoot 100 or 200 speed films, but decided to give the Foma 400 a shot. It's certainly not a bad film, and its low price point is a real draw. However, this isn't the film for me. While some shots are great, a lot are way too grainy. I don't mind grain, we're shooting film here after all, but it can become overpowering. However, for people getting started in the hobby, a cheap film like this is a good way to get experience without breaking the bank.

Grab yourself a piece of the Action!

I love Foma films, so affordable and have great exposure latitude, but I hadn't shot the Action 400 until now. I shot the sample images with my Contax 139 Quartz in AP mode, just to make sure I got consistent exposure throughout the roll, and developed it in HC 110 (Dil H) for 11 mins 15 sec. The negatives came out nice and dense with good detail and nice mid tones between the only black and the bright white. I will have to shoot some more of this film to really see where its forte lies, but so far it has handled a wide range of situations very well.

a cracking budget black & white film

I found this film gave great results in low lighting; I shot a few rolls on a gloomy, overcast day & I was impressed with the photos. Don't be put off by its low price, it's a bargain!
