An artists film

An interesting challenge. Developed this film in Ilford LC29 for the recommended 8 min .I had managed to obtain the correct film spiral for this film. Loading took some time but was not complicated. The film posed problems scanning so I sandwiched the negatives between 2 sheets of acetate to keep them flat. The results it produced were akin to pencil sketches and this is a film i will reserve for creative photography

Perfect for: Landscapes, Street Photography, Architecture
Good film but difficult to scan

I had been curious about this film for quite some time, so when it came back in stock I soon ordered some. The film was shot with a half frame Koroll 24s so I got 24 exposures. The picture quality is amazing and you can really see the paper. However the problems came once I had developed, the film very quickly crinkled up and was then wouldn't fit into the scanner mount, however with perseverance I managed to get it to scan in.

Beautiful Textures

Of the two paper films in the Film Washi line up, Washi V 120 is my fave. At ISO 100 and panchromatic, it is a little more flexible and in the 120 format the textures do not overwhelm the image. There is enough detail to for the images to not be too abstract, whilst the paper base creates an old world charm. Let the film dry naturally and emphasise the paper textures. Dry the film on an acetate sheet and create flat paper negatives. Wonderful with landscapes and travel for that bit of atmosphere. Highly recommended. Can't wait till they are back in stock.

This is a fun and different type of film. Just keep in mind it’s very difficult to dry and scan.
It curls long ways like a taco and can be brittle along the edges.
Even after attempting to dry it flat, it was not laying flat in my scanner tray. I had to tape the edges down to get it to work.
I enjoyed the challenge and the images came out neat and contrasty.
I’ll be buying again to perfect the process.
