Adox Silvermax Film 35mm B&W ISO 100

Our Price: £5.00 GBP

100078

Description

As the name suggests, this 35mm film has more silver content than traditional black and white emulsions (up to +30% more) which gives the emulsion much more exposure latitude. This means you can shoot across very difficult and contrasty lighting conditions while recovering great detail in the highlights and shadows in the final print. An outstanding professional film

Adox is one of the oldest photographic brands in the world, established in Germany in 1860 by Dr. Carl Schleussner - who worked on early wet-collodion plates and X-ray plates. The company started marketing their own cameras in the early 20th Century, and introduced a line of B&W films in 1952 that became renowned for their sharpness of resolution. A difficult end to the last century saw the brand change hands multiple times - and now Adox films are produced by Fotoimpex across manufacturing plants in Germany and Switzerland. Their products remain very high quality with a focus on emulsions that resolve incredible levels of detail and contrast.

Perfect for: Great All-Rounder
Excellent

There's a big spread of different b&w photos for your choice, but I keep coming back to this one. Lots of silver, lots of volume, for 5 quid per roll - yes please! Need to deal with no DX code, but think about it as a membership fee, it's just some sticky tape and some foil.

Love it - smooooooth

Great tonal range - wonderful on portraits - I developed in rodinal and it looked great - apparently it’s even better in the Silvermax developer

Best B&W film I've found yet!

Excellent range of tonality and very forgiving against strongly backlit images. Sharp detail and nice blacks. Perfect for my kind of work, especially travel, street photography and portraits, when working quickly. I love this film.

Richness in silver is what sets this film aside. You get very nice volume, and therefore amazing portraits. Definitely try it; my wife spent about 5 rolls in December only.
