A great stocking filler!

An essential tool for those moments when you've accidentally wound a film all the way back into its canister before it's finished! Simple and light, a life-saver to keep close at hand when you're out in the field. It is also useful for home development when you want to pull out an exposed reel (in darkness) without having to crack open the canister.

This one actually works!

After trying a couple of other film retrievers and failing miserably, I found I was right to trust the AP brand and, after following the instructions to the letter, was able to successfully retrieve film. This will save a lot of blood, sweat and tears in the dark bag and nobody wants bodily fluids on their films. Worthwhile purchase.

Give it a chance and it’s a great tool (must have)

Looooong time since I had used one of these and when I read the instructions I was concerned I had wasted my money. However I had not!

The quality of the English in the instructions isn’t great and if you haven’t used one of these before (or, like me, haven’t used one for ~22 years) that can make things confusing.

However with a couple of minutes practice it works an absolute charm. I would say this is a must have tool.

Handy gadget that you'll be thankful you had

When I first saw it I was sceptical that it would retrieve the film leader on the first attempt. But it did...very simple to use, a great piece of kit...I've used it a just a few times but pleased I had it as it's already paid for itself by saving me film that may otherwise have been wasted.

Brilliant gadget

I used to use a bit of double sided tape on a scrap of film, which meant that I regularly lost one or two frames because they got exposed to the light.

£15 seemed expensive, but the first time I used it was a revelation. It makes retrieving the leader a pleasure (who'd of thought?).

It feels like a quality piece of kit, too. Wish that I had bought one sooner.
