Today's blog post comes from the virtual pen of a fantastic documentary photographer who - after spending a couple of years focused solely on making a career from digital images - picks up his old film cameras and rediscovers the joy of an analogue shutter.
A thoughtful and reflective piece on an individual photographer's journey.

Thank you so much for 2018! We have loved every minute of the Analogue Wonderland journey so far, and are very excited to take our support for the community to the next level in 2019.
To ensure we re-open full of energy we are taking time over Christmas to recoup, rejuvenate, and take lots of film photographs!
This means that all current orders are guaranteed for Christmas delivery, BUT new orders won't be fulfilled until we return on the 3rd Jan. We will continue to reply to customer service queries until Christmas Eve, after which we will shut the office - also to the 3rd Jan.
We hope you have a wonderful festive season full of family, friends and film. See you in the new year and - as always - Happy Shooting!

A couple of weeks ago we asked the community what they'd like us to do for Black Friday 2018 and the answers fell into two broad camps:
- Mystery box! With rare/expired/random films as a bit of fun to try new things
- Bulk deals for people who frequently buy the same stocks to get consistent results and would appreciate some help in making that more affordable in the build-up to Christmas
Rather than choose between these two great ideas, we've decided to do both! Learn more by reading the full blog.

The final regular interview covering Dubble's current (!) range, we talk to Adam about Bubblegum. This film was introduced to the world in March 2018, at the same time as Monsoon and 6 months into the Dubble journey. A very different look and feel to all of the emulsions that went before, let's understand what inspired these sweet tints and colours.

Firstly another HUGE THANK YOU from Analogue Wonderland and Kodak Alaris to all of you who took part in this summer's competition. There were over 450 entrants across the 'Beginner' and 'Proficient' categories and the quality of the photography has been exceptionally high.
We have thoroughly enjoyed looking through each and everyone one of your photos (and sharing as many as possible on Instagram!) and we have now come to a decision on the winners. We have also produced a short video where Andrew from Kodak and Paul from Analogue Wonderland discuss the entries, what they liked most about their favourites, and what made the overall winners stand out. As well as some exciting news about Ektachrome!

Finding the right film and developing process combination for you is like finding the ideal girl/boyfriend, it may take a lot of tries and you will have some frustration and tears, but you will succeed if you understand what went wrong last time, and learn from it.
Howard of Devizes Darkroom takes us through the background and equipment needed to develop your own films at home.

For our next article in the series with Howard from Devizes Darkroom we ask him to explain how to use analogue light meters - and why you would need one if your camera has an inbuilt sensor. With the resurgence of interest in film photography, people are now discovering that taking manual control of the camera exposure settings is an enjoyable part of the process. Even if you have bought a super-expensive point and shoot with fully automatic exposure, you still might pick up something useful, so read on!

Exactly one month ago we opened our virtual doors to a crowd of lovely analogue photographers who have spent the past few weeks exploring the store, buying films, and learning about new emulsions.
In this article - our first blog post - we’ll summarise the things that have most surprised us since we launched, and what they mean for the future of Analogue Wonderland!
