Great with an orange filter

I shot a roll of Rollei 400s with an orange filter on a bright and sunny summer afternoon and I like the results I got. Nice contrast between the blue sky and the clouds and deep blacks and great tonal range across the frame. I shall be using it again.

Alternative to HP5

First time I have used the Rollei 400S and I'm pleased with the results. I was playing around with different lenses, exposures, and a filter. The film was shot at ISO 400 with a yellow Y2 filter. I have got to admit, I love a dark, moody pic and I do like the results HP5 pushed to 1600 yield; However, this film gives something different. Good contrast plus a lot of the fine grain detail were visible on some images. I'd use this film again.

Becoming a favourite

As an alternative to HP5, this film is quickly becoming a favourite for me. It gives great contrast and mild tones even in less favourable light. It also pushes really well.

Retro indeed

Rollei is becoming more and more my favourite brand for black and white pictures. Contrast, latitude, versatility, shadow play. Amazing during both day and evening shoots.

Good contrast and less grain than expected

I shot this film in a Minolta X300s and developed in 510 Pyro. The film has a great look, with good contrast and well contained grain. Sharp detail is good to see.
