Wolfen UN54 100 ISO

I used this with a newly acquired Yashica F-XD 28mm lens ( which I like) so quite a learning experience. The film likes sunny days which we've had end May -June. Film developed/scanned by SilverPan and straight out of camera only change from tiff to jpg. Good on detail resolution and gives good blacks. Pleased I bought this film to test the camera rather than a cheap 24 exp one. Certainly one I will use again though need t improve my knowledge of filters to keep the sky/clouds! Price just reasonable .

Excellent value film

Low grain and good contrast. I'd nominate this as one of the best value for money BW films on the market and I hope that new stocks will soon be available.

ORWO UN54

This will be a new film to many people and yes, it's classed as a budget film by many people. Like all the "budget films" now on the market though, UN54 is capable of amazing results! You can push it several stops if you wish, you can pull it several stops, it has a great exposure lattitude. It processes quickly in Ilford's ID-11 and 510 Pyro. Compared to the other "budget" films available, UN54 seems to have less grain, especially when processed in 510 Pyro. UN54 is great for capturing detail, contrast and texture, and is good for beginners and the more seasoned photographer. It's just a shame it isn't available in 120 format.
