What can you say?

As a Film photographer from way back, and still using my 1990’s MZ5, it was just mind blowing to get a new Pentax film camera. I was expecting it not to be perfect but - well it actually is. All the things it doesn’t have - autofocus, power wind, manual controls etc are what makes it absolutely special. Lens is top class and the half frame images are sharp. Easily the best film camera I have.

Try it before you have been misled by angry reviews.

This camera is a lovely travel companion. 72 shots on a roll. Sharp lens and ease of operation. The camera fits into your pockets without a problem. I am talking about short pockets not tiny back ones sorry Ladies . It is light, well built and very reliably making good exposures. Film loading is easy and max 2 sec. If someone is struggling with it sorry but it is user error. Use P mode for manual focus and AUTO for just snapping away. It took me 2 rolls to nail every zone focusing. After that you gonna know. I would recommend a clear filter on it for everyone. Because the lens is open and if you packet it gunk gonna end up in the lens mech and probably later on wont help :). The mode dial is easy to move and yeah you can move it when winding the camera but you probably have 1 sec to check it. Don't rush :) it is film!.
Price: so everyone is complaining about it all the time omg 500 yeah it is not cheap but you are not complaining about your iPhone which is over a grand are you? And this will be with you and your phone land in the junk yard after max 3-5 years. If you enjoy casual film photography and you want to focus on the experience and composition go for it. If you want some mega manual camera buy a good old film camera and play with it until it is alive :). Trust me it's gonna break :)
