Interesting Retro Look Colour Film

This was the first film that I'd ever shot from Lomography. I really liked the look of the sample images and decided to give it a go.

Things didn't get off to the best start! I really struggled to load it into my AE-1P - it just wouldn't take up and it took me ages to get it loaded. I've never had that problem with any other film! I've read reviews since where people have suggested that the problem is the very short leader on this film and have cut it longer to make it easier to load, so that might explain the issues I had.

Once loaded, we were all good to go and I took it for a walk around Birmingham. In the early afternoon, there was quite bright sunlight but, a few hours later, it was getting dark so I got to see how it performed over a range of lighting conditions.

I was quite impressed with the results. It definitely leans more towards the cooler end of the spectrum, with blue and green tones looking particularly strong. In lower light, the images look a bit more desaturated but it's still a very pleasing look. Despite the loading issue and the fact that I only got 35 exposures from the roll, this is still a film I would buy again in the future.

Retro look

Images tends to lean cooler on daytime. I heard it’s warmer tones at night time/lower light situation. Heavier grain stock compared to the ultramax400/portra 400 line.

Flat dull & dirty

I love a retro looking film that’s the whole point of shooting analogue.Unfortunately nothing about this film worked for me the it looks flat underexposed dirty but not in a good way.

Really really nice. Just got my scans back from the first few weeks of fall and wow. 100% buying again
