Join us on a photowalk through the historic city of Oxford as we explore the creative possibilities of Kodak Tri-X film!
Each purchase includes:
Logistics
We will meet on Broad Street at 12pm, an easy walk from the train station and bus stops.
We still start with a short explanation of the unique look and history of Tri-X, lead by an expert from Kodak Alaris. Every attendee will get a roll of Kodak Tri-X (one free with every ticket purchase) and a tip sheet.
We will then embark on a 2-hour guided photo scavenger hunt with a list of 10 'Images To Capture' - based on experience this is the best way to stretch our creative muscles and make some amazing photography.
We'll end at a cafe/pub in central town to debrief, socialise, and show off our cameras 😄
When the day is finished we will take your films back to our lab for processing and judging the following week. There will be prizes - courtesy of Kodak Alaris - for outstanding image entries as well as 'best in show', the roll that successfully nailed every image category.
FAQs
1. Is this photowalk for beginners or experienced film shooters?
BOTH! We won't get too technical in our detail, we don't expect any fancy cameras, and the focus of the event is creativity rather thank knowledge. However if you'd like to get into the detail on grain, contrast and developing techniques then there will also be plenty of opportunities to chat to the experts.
2. What happens if it rains?
There will be two paths planned - one for good weather and one for bad! - so we will be prepared for any eventuality.
3. What do I need to bring?
An empty 35mm camera ready to load with your free roll of Kodak Tri-X. A flash might be useful in case the weather is bad and we end up in the various museums/covered markets.
And a packed lunch/snacks if you get hungry - we won't plan to stop for food during the walk (although of course there will be plenty of chances to grab a coffee on the go)
4. Can I bring a friend?
Of course! Just make sure to buy the right number of tickets to cover everyone. We're limiting spaces to ensure that we can offer a great experience for everyone who's there
5. Is it accessible for everyone?
We will endeavour to make it an appropriate event for anyone who wants to come. If you have any concerns about the physical demands of the photowalk please email amy@analoguewonderland.co.uk who will happily work through the details with you.
6. How long does it last?
The walk will be 12-2pm, after which we will sit for a social drink for as long as folks want to chat.
7. Who is coming from Kodak and Analogue Wonderland?
At the moment we have the following planned: Andrew (Sales and Marketing Manager) from Kodak Alaris, Paul (owner), Amy (Marketing) and Max (Lab Manager) from Analogue Wonderland. So lots of people who will be available for advice, help, answering questions, and generally chatting about the joy of film photography!
This event is in support of our winter competition with Kodak.
