With updates from previous generations, the included Basic Riser MK3 is taller and more stable and the included 4x5 Light Source Basic MK2 OR Light Source Mini are 2-4 stops brighter. Both the Basic Film Carrier 35 MK2 and Basic Film Carrier 120 MK2 feature a double S-curve design for superior film flatness and include interchangeable inserts, allowing for full-border scanning and compatibility with additional film formats.

This kit includes:
- Basic Riser MK3 – Sturdy steel base, anodised aluminium column, and a taller, more stable design. Supports 35mm, 120, and 4x5 scanning with up to a 90mm macro lens.
- Basic Film Carrier 35 MK2 – Ensures superior film flatness with a double S-curve design. Scans half-frame, full-frame, and panoramic 35mm, plus Minox, 110, APS, and 126 (with optional cassettes). Scans full rolls in under 2 minutes.
- Basic Film Carrier 120 MK2 – Scans 6x4.5 to 6x9cm negatives with interchangeable cassettes for optimal flatness. Scans full rolls in under 60 seconds.
- Choice of Light Source:
- 4x5 Light Source Basic MK2 (99 CRI) or Light Source Mini (97 CRI) – Compact, ultra-bright, and colour-accurate for both black & white and colour film.
- Stabilising Masks – Securely hold film carriers to the light source while blocking extraneous light for precise scans.
- Inline Power Switch – Allows you to toggle the light source on/off without disrupting your setup.
Which Light Source is Right for You?
Both options offer exceptional colour accuracy (TLCI 98+). For 35mm and 120 film, the Light Source Mini is the best choice, while the 4x5 Light Source Basic MK2 supports larger formats up to 4x5.
