Kodak Summer 2026 Competition: UltraMax

By Oliver Smith

Welcome to our latest competition in partnership with Kodak Alaris 🏆 This time we would like to see your photos taken on Kodak UltraMax.

Kodak UltraMax is a colour-negative emulsion with enough sensitivity to cope with the darker winter days but will spring to life when the sun peeps through. With vibrant colours and excellent flexibility, Kodak Ultramax deserves its place at the top of Kodak's consumer film range and we can't wait to see the analogue magic you can create with it!

If this is your first film photography competition then AW offers you a very special welcome 🥳

At Analogue Wonderland we love to help folks find inspiration through film photography, and the aim of this competition is to celebrate your creativity and passion. We will be sharing some of our favourite images across our social platforms throughout the coming weeks so please get involved and support your fellow film shooters!

This is a FREE competition open to all and your chance to show off your film photography skills. Get your work featured and be in with the chance of winning a load of Kodak Film 👀 A prize worth shooting for! All while trying out this underrated, professional-grade black and white film stock.

🎯 The Challenge

All you need to do is submit up to 5 of your favourite images shot on Kodak UltraMax 400 film. Simply enter your details and upload your chosen photos via the quick and easy Google Form - please note; as it requires a photo upload, you will be required to sign in to a valid google account to access.

What kind of photos can I submit? Any you like, as long as they're shot on Kodak UltraMax 400 and taken by you!

We've added a 🌶️ hot little twist 🍋🟩 for Summer 2026 and we've adjusted our judging categories so you'll have a choice to enter your photos in one of three categories - how cool is that?

🗂️ The Categories

Kodak UltraMax 400 is a versatile colour film and we want to showcase the top categories that UltraMax is perfect for. You'll have a choice to enter your photographs under one of the following categories:

⚙️ Great All-Rounder: Portraits, Landscapes, Travel and more - whatever the subject matter, enter your photographs that show UltraMax as a versatile 400 speed film, perfect as a Great All-Rounder.

🎓 Beginners: Have you just started shooting film within the last 12 months? Enter your UltraMax shots in this category - doesn't matter what they're of, but we want to see how you're getting stuck into film photography.

🚦 Street Photography: Raw & Authentic, let's see your shots of everyday life in public spaces. So, think raw emotion, single, simple shots and organic, human interactions - we want that unfiltered creativity.

With these new categories available, this means we are offering A WINNING PRIZE FOR EACH CATEGORY - that's THREE CHANCES TO WIN A TOP PRIZE.

Top Tip: The more creative you are, the more it might catch our eye! If you've already got some in the archive that you're proud of we'd love to see them but remember, you're welcome to submit existing shots too - like any ones you may have from our Big Film PhotoWalk 2026.

🙋♀️ FAQs

Q: Do I need to buy the film from or process it with Analogue Wonderland to enter?

A: Nope! But you'll be able to take advantage of our award-winning lab services and regular deals on Kodak UltraMax 400 if you do 😉 And it's of course a great chance to try out our Club AW WonderLab discounts too!

Q: Can I submit more than one photo?

A: Yes of course! You can submit up to 5 images per person, but you'll need to submit each one along with its details in separate Google Form submissions, so keep that link and information handy.

Q: What if I've already shot on UltraMax recently?

A: That's totally fine - as long as the photo was taken on Kodak UltraMax 400 and you still have the digital scan, it's eligible for submission.

Q: What are the judging categories?

A: You'll have a choice to enter your photographs under one of the following categories:

⚙️ Great All-Rounder: Portraits, Landscapes, Travel and more - enter your photographs that show UltraMax as a versatile film, perfect as a Great All-Rounder.  🎓 Beginners: Have you just started shooting film within the last 12 months? Enter your UltraMax shots in this category.
🚦 Street Photography: We want your shots of everyday life in public spaces. So, think raw emotion, single shots and organic, human interactions.

Q: How can I enter as a beginner?

A: To enter as a 'beginner' we trust you to tell us the truth that you've only just started shooting film within the past 12 months - we want to see how newcomers to Analogue Photography utilise UltraMax and the types of shots they go for, and to encourage their growth within the film photography community.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your camera, load up a roll of Kodak UltraMax 400, and get shooting. We can't wait to see what analogue magic you create 🖤✨
