Vintage Camera Drops - Summer 2025

By Paul McKay

We have recently received a treasure trove of vintage film cameras and lenses!

Someone who's worked in the industry for the past ten years has kindly sourced and graded for us a wonderful mix of SLRs, point-and-shoots, rangefinders, compacts, and lenses. We are working hard to process and photo each item - so you can be 100% confident in the piece you're buying for your camera collection.

Our next drop will be Friday 6th September at 4pm in our app (download here) or 4:30pm on our website (here)

So set your clocks and get ready to grab your new shooting companion!

How are the cameras and lenses graded?

You will see a clear indicator of the item's condition on each product page.

Condition LabelWhat It Means
Mint-

As close to new as a used item can be. It will have absolutely minimal signs of use.

Fully functional in all respects. Comes with a 30-day warranty period.

Excellent Plus (EXC+)

Very good condition, it will have seen light use and there will be some very minor cosmetic imperfections.

Everything is fully functional in all respects unless otherwise stated in the description. Comes with a 30-day warranty period.

Excellent (EXC)

Used condition but good overall - what you might expect from a second hand item.

Some signs of use but fully working unless otherwise stated. The 'standard' condition rating. Comes with a 30-day warranty period.

Average (AVG)

Relatively poor condition overall but still fully working. Will have obvious signs of use and/or minor issues — for example optics may have small defects, a built-in light meter may not work, there may be cosmetic imperfections — and so on.

There will be nothing too detrimental to its functionality and the item will be mostly usable in its original capacity. Comes with a 30-day warranty period.

Ugly

Heavily used, beaten up, or whatever you want to call it. The item will function (just) — but will have one or more obvious defects. For example: the slow shutter speeds may not be working, there may be a ding to a filter rim, deep scratches or fungus to optics, significant signs of use and wear.

'Ugly' rated items do not come with any warranty period.

Please note that for any condition rating, we do not guarantee selenium-cell light meters - both those which are built into cameras and hand-held. Due to age, these types of meter have often decayed to inaccurate or inoperative levels.

All used lenses will have some specks of dust in the optics no matter what the condition rating.

  • My Minolta AF 50mm f/1.7 lens was delivered today, 1st October 2025, and I am very happy with it. It’s clean, has clear optics and no fungus! Tis currently getting comfy on my Dynax 4 ready to shoot autumn colours on Kodak Gold.
