A favourite for landscapes

Blues and yellows really pop on this film which makes it great for shooting architectural shots, particularly stone work on a bright sunny day, I also love this film for evening shots, this film will give you rich and saturated tones with smooth gradients.
If you underexpose slightly you get gorgeous blue colours. Be careful with your metering though as this film has a relatively small latitude and underexposed areas will become problematic if scanning.
This film is super saturated, extremely sharp and pretty much grain free at this size.

Expensive, but unmatched.

Velvia remains a standard for slides in 35mm and 120 formats; beautifully saturated images, a rendering that complements landscapes, deep blues and warm reds. The large format equivalent is exactly as you'd expect, with an impossible amount of detail even in 5x4. The grain is nonexistent when scanned at any sane resolution, with huge enlargements being no problem at all. The 5x4 positives are objects of wonder to behold in themselves. Although this film seems expensive per shot, for certain scenes (ensuring that the dynamic range is within the capabilities of the film) there is nothing like it.
