Contrast, contrast, contrast and crisp!

I've been working my way through many black and white 35mm film. The majority of the Ilford and Kentmere range. Trying to find my go to film of choice and this is it. The Ilford HP5+ 400 had its place for all round use and I've had some great results as an amateur using a very basic Praktica MTL3 on the Ilford 400 range. After seeing the deep rich blacks and incredible contrast with Ilford Delta 100 from other reviews and almost zero grain and so crisp I gave it a go. It likes lot of light from my research especially being a 100 film but also is easy to over expose especially the lighter greys and whites in very bright sunshine. But saying that, get the exposure right and I achieved some of the best exposures I've ever taken. I love the look of the scans I received. I've even had some of these blown up to 12x8 inches and they still look crisp and sharp with beautiful contrast. I've ordered 3 more rolls to bring on holiday with me. I probably won't use anything else going forward. I'm very into cars and I restore post war and classic cars professionally. I loved the timeless feel that Ilford Delta gave to these shots. A stunning film and well worth the patience with a 100 speed film. I'm fairly new to film photography. I felt very out of my comfort zone moving away from the generic 400 speed safety net. However I was chasing that fine grain, contrast and deep rich blacks. Ilford delta 100 gave me exactly what I wanted.

I really like how this came out with the contrast and the way the shadows and light looks. I also love how fine the grain is making for soem really nice images.

Perfectly crisp!

Always super reliable, perfect for black and white photography with stunning results :) I mainly shoot outdoors but it is a great all-rounder.
