Ilford was founded in 1879 in the English town of the same name. They are B&W royalty in the photography industry thanks to their 140-year heritage and their support for photographers with chemicals and development as well as film. In the mid-20th Century they produced several well-regarded camera lines (including one given to Princess Elizabeth that was later stolen!) but today they are focused on producing the best films and development processes that they can.

A great all rounder
Great alternative to delta 400 when you have only got C41 chemicals in the house. tonally its excellent an very easy to work with I have not printed it in the darkroom but Have scanned it with a Plustek and found the results very flexible and forgiving as the dynamic range of this film is massive. Great for beginners and professionals alike.
Lovely contrast, beautifully clear and with a nice grain. Didn’t expect to love shooting black and white so much, but this film really surprised me! The c41 processing makes it so easy to send off for processing with the rest of my film too

A great versatile film
A really versatile B&W film — that can be developed as colour! The C41 development really cuts down on waiting time to get your shots back from the lab, and the film itself is comfortable and forgiving. Used it for a film swap, and it worked well as a roll of double exposures. Will definitely be back to shoot another roll.

Nothing like a classic B&W for some wedding elopement photography
I've used this film many, many times over the years for our wedding photography business and for personal stuff, its a great reliable film and was perfect for the editorial look we had envisioned for this Blackpool elopement shoot.

Beautiful results
Obtained some really good results from this film. Nice grain structure and good contrast and definition. Also, the added benefit of it being compatible with C-41 processing
