I have had mixed results in the past with the Kentmere range of films, particularly in 35mm, but over the last eighteen months I’ve put the work in and found what works for me with each of the films. For Kentmere 400 it’s developing in EuroHC (dilution B) that changed my mind and start embracing this film in 35mm. In decent light it performs very well with a pleasant grain and decent contrast. I’m not a big fan of it for low-light however as this tends to bring out the worse in terms of blocking in the shadows. As with most film though the key is to experiment and find what works for you. I put in the work with Kentmere 400 and I’m glad I did. These images with an Olympus XA3.

A good, budget-friendly black and white film
I really enjoy shooting black and white.....I don't know why I don't do it more.
This is a really great film, which is easier on the wallet than a lot of others.
Great budget film, also pushes really nicely up to 2 or 3 stops - attached photos where shot +2 stops
