Kodak - properly known as Kodak Eastman - was founded in America in 1888 and dominated the "Western" world of photography for the next 100 years, constantly in fierce rivalry with the Japanese Fuji. Similarly to Fuji the advent of digital photography at the turn of the century caused significant financial problems. A late attempt to win in the compact market was hit by the rise of mobile photography and bankruptcy followed in 2012. Fortunately the photography business has survived under the Kodak Alaris name - based in Hertfordshire, England - and they have delighted the analogue industry by pledging continued support for film production and the promise of bringing back old favourite emulsions.

Great contrasty and colourful film.
Great all round film stock and works well from what I've seen for street photography, portraits and architectural shots. It reacts well to being scanned and can be a nice contrasty stock especially when you give it more light. It struggles a bit in flat overcast light and requires a bit more editing after scanning in that case. Nice punchy colours overall and has a nicer character than something like colorplus but doesn't feel any more limiting by being ISO 100. Recommend it!

Great film, especially when on-offer
Great quality film - I prefer it to Gold, although obviously it’s slightly slower. Better value than Portra 160. Fine grain, true-to life colours. Often on-offer, which is great.

Great film for good light
Having got back into film photography as an old hobby I was pleased to take a couple of rolls of Kodak Pro Image to a Greek island. I heard that this film is good in a warm climate (it was up to 38 degrees C in Kos). The ISO 100 is also good in bright sunny days. The result was pleasing with what I think is a natural colour representation and decent grain. Even though my camera is decades old all the exposures where by and large decent. I for one am happy with this film. Sample shots using a Yashica FX 3 with Yashica 50mm ML lense.
