Better than Gold

I'm not a fan of Gold and thought I'd give ProImage a try when I needed to check a new camera purchase (1935 Certo Dollina). Quite neutral/natural in terms of saturation and contrast - giving more scope to adjust in software - but a little more grain than I expected.

Good All Round Film. Excellent in good light

A really reliable film that is at its best in good light. Much cheaper than Portra but much better than Gold or Ultramax. Has some grain to give the images character. Also stable at high temperatures so good for the summer or traveling

Natural Colours but More Grain than Expected

I have enjoyed using Kodak Professional range films like Ektar so I wanted to try ProImage 100 as a lower cost alternative. I shot my first roll in the rather ugly Olympus AZ300 Superzoom which has shot some nice B&W images. When I got the scans from the Wonderlab I found the colours to be natural and not super saturated like Ektar. Viewing the shots at full screen it was obvious there was noticeable grain, which surprised me. Other consumer grade films I have shot in the past, like Agafa Vista 200 and Gold 200, had finer grain than this. Is it the film? Camera's exposure? Processing? Who knows? I don't dislike the look, but this film may not be my budget choice in future.

Happy snapping :)

I love this film! It's easy, on the cheaper side and the colours always come out beautifully
