Kodak - properly known as Kodak Eastman - was founded in America in 1888 and dominated the "Western" world of photography for the next 100 years, constantly in fierce rivalry with the Japanese Fuji. Similarly to Fuji the advent of digital photography at the turn of the century caused significant financial problems. A late attempt to win in the compact market was hit by the rise of mobile photography and bankruptcy followed in 2012. Fortunately the photography business has survived under the Kodak Alaris name - based in Hertfordshire, England - and they have delighted the analogue industry by pledging continued support for film production and the promise of bringing back old favourite emulsions.

First Colour Film
I have received the Kodak Pro Image 100 as part of the PhotoWalk bundle and while skeptical as I usually only shoot black and white, found myself pleasantly surprised with the results. Made it a rule to always have one of these on me now.
Kodak Pro Image 100 very quickly became one of my favorite film rolls to shoot, and in some ways was very suprising.
From my experience so far, the colours that come from Pro Image almost feel like a midway point between the warm vibes from Portra and the vibrancy of Ektar. The colours feel natural and warm, yet still vibrant and able to pick up a vibrant scene. Close-up shots such as portraits retain significantly more detail than I expected.
What suprised me though is the flexibility and forgiveness of it. Pro Image 100 was the first time (I am quite new to film photography) I used a film with an ISO less than 200. With the flash, results are pretty standard, but suprisingly in lighting where my light-meter was basically saying to give up, I got some really decent shots from it. I even tried it with some astrophotography and, granted it's not perfect, it still did alright.
Would suggest this film to anyone, even beginners.

Great for travel
This film (expired 2019, shot 2025) survived well in 30C+ heat in Athens this summer. Always a reliable film stock, good colours.
Was very pleased with how my pictures turned out. Was more a more forgiving film stock than I expected. The colours are a bit more natural than kodak gold which I have used previously. The lower ISO means its also a bit more resilient when the German airport secuirty insist that it goes through the X-Ray machine!
