Bricks, Boats & Kodak Glow

I shot these on a sunny day in Leeds with my Chinon CM-4S and Kodak Ultramax 400, and honestly, this combo just nails it. The colours came out warm and punchy without being over the top — the red bricks, the canal reflections, even the little details under the bridge all have that lovely Kodak glow.
Ultramax handled the bright sunlight and shadows really well, and the grain has just the right amount of texture for that classic film feel. It’s such a reliable, forgiving film — perfect for wandering around on a bright day and not worrying too much about perfect settings.
Can’t recommend Ultramax enough for days like this. It makes everything look a bit more nostalgic, like summer’s still hanging on.

Fab film

I bought some of this as it was a great deal and am thrilled with the pics. They are dark and moody and perfect for autumn!

Great all rounder

Have tried this film a few times, mostly in outdoor lighting and I wasn’t as keen on it as Gold or Colorplus. Recently tried it out in a low-lit arcade using flash, and loved the results.

Good all round colour film

I normally shot black and white so interesting to try this film. Quite mellow colours which I like and excellent grain for 400 ASA. I’ll certainly use it again.

Another strong Kodak film

On a recent fortnight trip to the Highlands, I packed 5 rolls of film… and then realised 6 days out from the end of the trip I was almost finished. So - a quick emergency Google, and we were off to a quiet camera shop in the wilderness of Loch Ness.

They had a limited selection of- so decided to finally try Ultramax for the end of our trip (including 2 days in the Lake District).

I love a lot of Kodak film - including Portra 400 and Pro Image - and this was no exception. Really impressed with the colour recreation, tones, and how it handled a brightly lit day on multiple occasions.
