Once upon a time you’d not even give Shanghai film the time of day…

There once was a time the offering from Shanghai wouldn’t even be worth putting through a camera to test it. This has completely changed. This is an amazing film. Rate it at box speed, shoot it to your hearts content and the results are lovely. Particularly sings in the new developers brought to the market by Nik and Trick.

Not great

I've shot and developed around 10 of these on the 135mm format. it's very cheap but not really great. let me explain.. the blue coating requires several washed prior to developing. the film itself is very thin making a bit of a pain to develop and reel I'm the dar at home. it's produces relatively good contrast but the sharpness is not great. i would say paying a quid or two for better 100 film will go a long way

Vintage tones

Thought I would try something new and I'm glad I did. the film has a lovely tone in the greys and is very sharp. good all round film and will definitely use it again

Great film but

I've used two rolls of this in my RZ67 and it seems the printed start mark is incorrect, as the last frame is only partially on the film, luckily the last shot in both rolls was nothing of importance

However the film has great contrast and some good definition, I also believe it would do great for reversal processing but I'm yet to try it, I might with the final roll I bought
