Strange and otherworldly

This is a fun film to use. I shot and developed it at box-speed, although it does seem more interesting when slightly under-exposed. Landscapes come out strange, as expected, with the shifted colours. The intensity of the colours can be a bit unpredictable.. but I have only shot one film so far, so I'm not used to how it works yet. I think it definitely has potential for more experiments!

Lomo Aerochrome

The closest modern film to the coveted Kodak Aerochrome. Shoot greens and yellows for the most effect. Perfect for trippy landscapes.

Unique film for creative shots

I really love Lomo purple film, and think it is particularly well suited to larger formats. In my experiments, it seems to work best with clear areas of contrast - otherwise things can get muddy and flat. Greens turn a delightful range of purples and reds, with lighter colours tending towards yellow and burned white. In some ways it is reminiscent of the effects you get from cross processing, and is apparently inspired by the IR film aerochrome, which makes sense. For that reason, I use this judiciously, when I want something highly stylised - like for band/promo shots.

Loved it!

My 1st try with this film stock - shot at 200iso on a Yashica LM. Love the effects on greenery/grass. Overall pretty pleased at how they turned out and have now bought the 35mm to try more shots at different iso and different subjects.

Love this film

I recently shot a roll of Lomochrome Purple and loved the results so much I've just ordered another roll. Exposed at ISO 250, shot in bright sunshine and using a polarising filter, it produced rich purples on tree leaves, pink on grass and changed blue skies to a vivid green. Reds stay red, so for a shot I took of a red phone box and post box against some bushes (shown below), the contrast of the reds and deep purples was amazing. Can't wait for my next roll to arrive.
