Price makes it good as a test film

Used this as a test film for an older camera which unfortunately didn't work great, but wasn't too heartbroken as the film was cheap

Value for Money Can't be Beaten

I bought a few rolls of this film as a nice budget option for testing out cameras bought as job lots at auctions. I have to say, having run a roll through a Nikon F65 I'm very impressed. Nice, fine grain, as you'd expect from 100 ISO. Pleasantly surprised by good contrast.

And one particular favourite of mine - having developed in a Paterson tank (which in itself is great as it's only a 5 minute developing time at 1+9), the negatives lie remarkably flat, which makes putting them into a scanning mask an absolute doddle.

This will definitely be my go-to for continued tesint `(just as well, as I still have three rolls to use!).

Far better than I expected 👍🏻

Although this film may be considered a budget film given its price point, the resulting photographs far exceeded my expectations and I shall definitely use this film stock again. 10/10.

Good value reliable stock

Kentmere stock may not be the most exciting but it is excellent value for a good quality, flexible and reliable image.
It has a good latitude, reasonably fine grain and it can be pushed for extra grit and contrast.
It makes a great film for beginners wanting to buy some thing affordable while they find their feet or for testing a new (or new old) camera, or a new technique. The fact the film delivers consistent results makes it a good baseline for exploring other factors.
It is also a good affordable film for travel or street photography where you might want to feel more relaxed about the cost per shot.

Exceptional value for money

This is the first time I have used B&W film since 1968 and I was delighted with the results.
