Versatile black and white film.

At ISO 400, this film is great in essentially any adequate lighting. I've used it in full sun, shade, indoors and at night under artifical light, and gotten excellent results.

It has great contrast, for bold images.

Like a familiar pair of shoes

HP5 is a staple. Shoot it, learn how it behaves, and it’ll be there for you forever.

Cheap film for learning the ropes

I have a bag of these from 2023 which I need to develop so after getting the bug again figured I should start cheaply to get to grips. Unfortunately my camera has developed a light leak which ran accross a number of shots, though I think even some of these work.
The bright Spanish sunshine helped greatly with this, and I really like the contrast and grain. I'm likely to start developing my own B&W film soon, so I can have more scope for experimentation to see how far it can go.

First time in a long time

First time in a long time using film. The quality of the Ilford HP5 Plus more than compensated for my lack of skill. Allowing me to capture some really good images. I would also like to add that the service from analogue wonderland is first class.

No.1 B&W Film

Fantastic B&W Film, great all rounder, with beautiful grain, examples were shot at box speed which gives great detail both in shadow and highlights with no special requirements, shoot with or without a filter and fantastic results are practically guaranteed. My No.1 go to B&W film !!
