New to home developing but only ever used Ilford products. Easy to use,decent price and good results. No reason to change as this does the job for me.

Not just for beginners, these sachets of Ilfosol 3, (yep, that's what's in there), are just great if you just need some developer in a hurry. Just pop the bag into water at 20 degrees to warm up add to 540ml (at 20c) of water and you're away.
Ilfosol 3 is great all purpose very reliable developer, good for revealing the true characteristics of a film as it doesn't refine the grain or add much in the way of additional sharpness. A forgiving developer that works well even if you're a bit off with the time and temperature. I would say it's best used with slow or medium speed films, typically I'd use it with FP4+ or Foma 100/200. That said I've attached a recent image taken on Rollei Retro 400s as it was the only developer that I had handy.... Great presentation, easy to use, great results shame about the plastic waste.
Although a little more expensive than buying bulk these kits make the process quick and easy. An all round developer and very suitable for beginners.
