Crystal clear negatives

Love these, they help my negatives dry a lot quicker than when I used my fingers. Highly recommend

Squeegee Clean!

A basic but essential item. Will last for years. Just be VERY careful about dust on it (as shown) when you squeegee the film dry- it can be a pain. A good stiff wipe down with a bone dry cloth beforehand should do it.

Squeejeez this is good

Struggled with water spots after developing film. I don’t always have access to photo flow or distilled water & this does exactly what it says on the tin, haven’t had any water spots or streaks since using this. I would highly recommend especially for anyone starting out with home development.

Does the job

I've used it five times now, if using a washing agent, as I do, it's good to dip the sqeegee in the solution beforehand, has worked very nicely in removing excess water and I would recommend this product.

Good

I home developed for the first time, I may have used them wrong but noticed quite a lot of drying marks I thought these would reduce it massively although I know I should use photo flow aswell so maybe that's the problem but they did contribute to the film drying faster

Great for drying film

Great squeegee for drying film after home processing. Requires quite a firm squeeze to ensure consistent results, but ensures a cleaner end result without water drops on the film after drying.

Patterson Film Squeegee. :)

AW asked me to share my experience of Patterson Film Squeegee, so here it is: I developed my first two rolls of film and after rinsing they were wet so I squeegee-ed them, then they weren't so wet. A perfect squeegee experience

NO MORE WATERMARKS

My first couples of rolls were blighted by the dreaded watermarks but this squeegee is awesome for making sure you don't get them. Using this in combination with Ilfotol wetting agent has given me dust & mark free negs every time. Not to mention squeegee is one of the best words to say out loud. Go ahead say it "squeegee" bet you smiled didn't you.

Exactly what you need for home development

After using the squeegee you are sure to not get any watermarks or other issues that come from home drying.
Definitely recommend this
Great value for money

Great

I know some people hate using these but you just need to make sure they’re really wet and you use Photoflo or whatever and then in my experience they don’t scratch. I used to get loads of streaks and don’t anymore!

Ummmm....

This review isn’t aimed at these squeegees, but any of this type. I wouldn’t recommend using these as they can scratch the film unless really wet, any unseen dust or dirt will scratch. Other thing I find is if they are not wetted they can stick to or pull the film on the clip with risk of film being pulled onto the floor - I’ve done it!

If you must squeegee your film, dip your fingers in photoflo or stabilizer and use your fingers as a squeegee, but best is just leave well alone, use photoflo for B&W or stabilizer for color and these will get rid of the water.

This works way better than my fingers ever did.

Dose what you would expect

Works pretty well. Helps to prevent drying streaks on film. Wide enough or 35mm and 120.

Does what it it says on the tin

It's a pretty straight forward product - helps to eliminate annoying watermarks that can occur during drying, by simple squeegeeing (is that a word?) the moisture off the film surface. I particularly like that fact that the top and bottom parts interlink a bit, resulting in a very smooth and accurate travel when dragging it along a set of negatives. The size of the item makes it ideal for both 35mm and 120 formats of film. Larger formats might be a tad tricky though, hence the 4 stars.
