My films living their best life

I've had four 120 colour rolls developed in recent months and in all of them I've been impressed and grateful for the lab team's ability to bring my captures to life. Even in flat light, if there's anything decent there then somehow it's made to sing out. The scans are sharp and clean and so the detail in medium format gives me a little burst of joy every time. Rich colour, detail in the shadows, bright but not overblown highlights and images that are distinctly 'film'. They even withstand a gentle bit of darkroom-like nudging in post here and there.
Now, there are a few of my attempts that are beyond even AW miracles to rescue entirely, but from the rest of the roll I'm always confident that that was me and/or the fading light, but not the lab.
I mostly use the 'correct and rotate' JPG option. The 'professional' option was probably worth it for the individual frame balancing in one roll, but so was spending a bit more time myself tidying up the very few dust/other gremlins that remained.
And all so easy: drop it off in the post and wait for some delight to unfurl! Thanks, team!

Kodak Portra 106 (120)8

Really pleased with the scans from this film bearing in mind that this was the first roll I'd shot on a recently purchased 1950's Koroll24 half frame camera. I do seem to be missing a few frames though but this will no doubt be down to my inexperience with this camera and I shall be able to check the negatives when these are returned to me. Turnaround time was also a bit slower than normal this time from the lab but AW kept me updated so this was not a problem 🙂

YOU DID IT AGAIN!

Ahh, Max and the team have a Midas touch. I needed these images fast for some submissions, and I was blown away when they came back. I saw the notification when I woke up and thought - it's either really good or really bad. Thankfully, it was awesome. Thanks, WonderLab team!

Good as Gold

Excellent results for Kodak Gold 120 on a dull day. Shooting at ƒ5.6 gives a super movie-style look to the pictures with natural colour, great detail, and a hint of grain which is amazing.
