I’ve used Ilford MG constantly for over 40 years and I was overjoyed when they released version 5 a few years back.
It now has the same emulsion as its FB cousin which means it develops in a similar time , is beautifully rich and tones well too. As for 5x7 it’s a perfect size for storing, passing around and my pocket.

Ilford rarely disappoint, and their paper is no exception. My only complaint (if any) is that sadly nowadays you can't get different weights of paper. It's all standardised.
This paper is excellent for day to day work and is quick to develop and fix and, more importantly economically, wash.
Like it's glossy sibling, Ilford RC pearl is easy to work with and is flexible in darkroom printing.
Easier to handle and vastly more economical than Fibre papers, this paper benefits from wash times of about 5-10 minutes compared to 1 hour for Fibre papers.
As with all Ilford products, this paper gives good performance and the RC version doesn't take long to fix and wash.
I recently learnt how to darkroom print (great fun!) and this was the paper they used, so I purchased some for future darkroom work. While I can't say that I have experimented with the full available range of darkroom papers, this paper was durable and very easy to handle. The pearl finish is perfect and subtle. The only reason that I have not given this paper 5 stars is because I am dubious about its performance for displaying art. If you just want to see how the image looks printed and add it to a portfolio box then this paper is perfect. However, if I wanted to make a darkroom print and get it framed for display, I think there are probably more premium papers that could be used. Nonetheless, great darkroom paper that I'll continue to use.
I prefer the pearl finish to the gloss unless I'm doing portrait work really. But in either case a great all-rounder.
Ive been printing exclusively with Ilford paper for over 40 years and the latest iteration, Multigrade Deluxe is as good as they said it would be.
Blacks are richer , easy to control highlights and it takes to my favourite toner, selenium really well.
5x7 for me is the perfect format

This paper is versatile and has lots of latitude for a good dynamic range. I seem to get good contrast across the prints with this

Nice matte finish paper, usual ilford quality, although worth bearing in mind the matt finish will reduce the brightness of the print compared to gloss
My teacher told me to get glossy but I went for the pearl instead. And very nice it is too.
A great paper for dark room work, nothing beats making your own prints and this is my go to paper!
A great paper with excellent properties. I use it quite often. Unfortunately AW have been beaten on price with this one!
But nonetheless, great paper and the AW team are great 👍🏻
