About Kodak

Kodak - properly known as Kodak Eastman - was founded in America in 1888 and dominated the "Western" world of photography for the next 100 years, constantly in fierce rivalry with the Japanese Fuji. Similarly to Fuji the advent of digital photography at the turn of the century caused significant financial problems. A late attempt to win in the compact market was hit by the rise of mobile photography and bankruptcy followed in 2012. Fortunately the photography business has survived under the Kodak Alaris name - based in Hertfordshire, England - and they have delighted the analogue industry by pledging continued support for film production and the promise of bringing back old favourite emulsions.

Fantastic colours and contrast

Insane quality with amazing colours and contrast, probably the best travel and colour film however it has its price.

Great film for nature and travel shots.

I love this colour negative film and its super bright and vivid colours, especially reds, greens, and blues. It has very fine grain, so photos look sharp and detailed, even when enlarged.

It works best in bright light, and I enjoy using it for landscapes, nature, and travel shots. It’s an ISO 100 film, so it’s not ideal for low light unless you use a tripod.

Overall, Kodak Ektar 100 is perfect for bold, colourful photos with lots of detail and vivid colours.

Stunningly Saturated

One of the most beautiful colour stocks I’ve shot, I’ll be shooting landscapes on Ektar from now on. The colours it captures aren’t just strong, they’re beautiful. This isn’t the kind of saturation you get from turning up the saturation in a photo editor. The colours feel natural. I also found it surprisingly forgiving in terms of exposure.

Beautiful film

I was kindly gifted this film as a Christmas present - it's pretty pricey but it's really beautiful. Really gorgeous contrast and colours. Intrigued to use it again in Summer.
