Tried and trusted

At this point there’s nothing that needs to be said, that others haven’t already. It’s absolutely solid and easy to shoot with some rich, consistent colours, fine grain. It’s the standard for solid daytime, low speed photography and a great film to go to when you just want to grab a camera and go.

It is however, perhaps a little boring. The vanilla ice cream of films.

Classic

Great in 99% of scenarios. Perfect for the classic film look with a warm and gold hue. Great in SLRs or point and shoot cameras.

Solid Gold already....

1970's Olympus OM1 - a fine camera using fine film - not the best film at this time of year - but as Cheech and Chong said "...feeling like solid Gold already...."
That dates me and anyone else who remembers this....

Fun all-rounder

Still one of the most affordable and available colour film stocks, its warm tones make it a classic and while these may not be to your taste or you may find yourself moving on to other colour stocks Gold is a great place to start.
It is a very forgiving film that can be pushed, has a good latitude and handles overexposure well.
If shot in good light with correct exposure its gives a clean and vibrant image.
