Kodak - properly known as Kodak Eastman - was founded in America in 1888 and dominated the "Western" world of photography for the next 100 years, constantly in fierce rivalry with the Japanese Fuji. Similarly to Fuji the advent of digital photography at the turn of the century caused significant financial problems. A late attempt to win in the compact market was hit by the rise of mobile photography and bankruptcy followed in 2012. Fortunately the photography business has survived under the Kodak Alaris name - based in Hertfordshire, England - and they have delighted the analogue industry by pledging continued support for film production and the promise of bringing back old favourite emulsions.

I ran a roll of this through a Nikon FE, ahead of trying out home developing colour for the first time (I'm usually only on black and white, but got intrigued by a Cinestill 41 developing pack from here - must review that at some point too).
The film seems pretty forgiving, and gave me nice definition between the colours. My processing skills need improving, as I thought it initially a bit on the 'cold' side, but I just needed to play around with it a bit more, as the colour rendering was lovely.
The 100 speed did limit me occasionally, but if you know you're going somewhere nice and bright on holiday, I reckon I might spring for a five pack of this, knowing it's not going to cost the earth, and it will still give me great results...

Kodak Pro Image 100 is certainly one of, if not the best budget friendly colour film out there, for around £10 a roll on average this should be in everyones go bag, lines and edges come out crisp, colours are bright and vibrant, the fine detail is amazing. If you don't want to have to think about choosing a colour film and you're indecisive with all the options on the market, Kodak Pro Image is the simple choice that provides every single time.

A great and affordable travel companion
This film's better durability makes it perfect for hot and sunny travel destinations. My go-to stock for cheaper, clean film if I'm going anywhere warm.

Good film for its purpose
A good film for good lighting, as I used it in winter and in the evening, I couldn’t fully enjoy it. I probably wouldn’t take it again, or would only use it for its intended purpose in the summer with good daylight.
