I'm a big fan of this transparent hardcase, so much that I bought two.
It feels a lot more surdy than I first expected, while still being light and compact enough to fit neatly inside my small camera bag.
The two identical halves snap together firmly, and it takes deliberate action to split them apart.
The smooth outer design doesn't snag on anything.
I found it convenient for taking through airport security, just split the case and hand the half with your films over to be hand-checked.
The transparent plastic makes it extra clear what's inside, and it's easy for the security agent to swab each film cassette quickly.
So, why only 4 stars?
My main gripe is that you may end up with a variant of this case which is half transparent and half opaque black.
Not only is this version (in my opinion) a visual downgrade, it also doesn't close as securely as the fully transparent version (at least the one I received didn't).
The black half also seems to scratch/show scratches more easily, mine had some noticable scuffs straight out of the box.
I hope AW adds an option to specify which colour you'd like, although in my opinion I think Silbersalz should probably just discontinue the half-black version entirely.
Thankfully, AW support was very helpful and I was able to exchange my half-black case for another fully transparent one.
