A great film holder designed for precise development of Super 8 Movie film either by hand or in a Paterson tank. Made by AGO the creators of AGO Film Processor.
Process Super 8 film at home
The Super 8 Developing Reel is the first Super 8 reel designed for thePaterson Multi-Reel 8 tank. It brings motion picture film processing into your home darkroom, something previously costly and difficult without professional lab equipment. Whether you're shooting home movies, experimental films, or artistic projects on Super 8, you can now develop the footage yourself with full control over the process.
Processing Options
Black & White:Hand agitation in a Paterson 8-reel tank using the included roller-base or automated processing with AGO Film Processor
Color C-41 and E-6:Pair with the AGO Film Processor for temperature consistency and chemical saving rotary processing.
B&W reversal (Scala process):Produce positive motion picture film that can be projected directly. For the second exposure step required in reversal processing, use together with the LED Light for Super 8, or place a small light stick inside the translucent reel body to expose the film evenly from within. The translucent construction makes it easier to monitor this exposure and helps when handling positives throughout the process. Possible to process by hand or paired with AGO.
Each reel holds 50 ft / 15.24m of Super 8 film, a standard cartridge length. Built from durable, chemical-resistant PETG and heat-safe to 50°C, the reel handles the temperatures required for C-41 and E-6 processing.
The included roller base serves two purposes: it assists with loading film onto the reel in the dark, and can be used for manual rotary developing if you're processing without the AGO. A drying clips system is also included to hang your processed film for even, scratch-free drying.
