Should you buy a film based on the packaging alone? Probably not, but if you already know Fomapan, and you have the chance to get the retro packaging, well why wouldn't you?

It's so much nicer than the usual packaging I don't know why they don't change it permanently....

The film itself is really strong. Nice grain, reasonable contrast (I think I prefer the contrast of Kentmere 200, but depends on the subject), though I think on my pack the start arrow might have been in the wrong place, because I got 11 and a half shots, rather than the 12.

Good beginner film

I used this film to just get some ideas on my photo series I was creating on ADHD, after a first attempt the pictures were already perfect. overjoyed by the whole experience with the film in the studio and another great purchase from analogue wonderland. below are a few of the images.

This was my first roll of 120 film that I experimented with. The results turned out gorgeous (and a little blurry) and I love them. So excited to try even more

Really fantastic & reliable film - I used in the light and in shade in a sunny day and the photographs came out great. I’m an absolute novice. Photos were taken on a 1920s box brownie.

I have had some good results from this emulsion on 35mm so I bought some in 120 to try out an Ensign Selfix 645 camera I was given. The results showed sharpness and good contrast and tones. They also showed artifacts which I thought was dust on the negs. Then I realised that dust shows as white when scanned and these little marks were black, meaning small eliptical spots where the negative was blank. I checked the film path in the old camera but everything was spotless. Subsequent research led me to other photographers experiencing the same phenomenon, with some mentioning a known about problem with a certain batch of 120 film. I probably won't use this film again, but mainly because it curls like a spring, making scanning a pain.

Might be biased because this is my first ever 120 roll, but I loved how the pictures came out.

It is currently in my ensign ful-vue, it's a good quality film, easy to load, the box is collectable worthy, does look good with my vintage camera collection. Awaiting the next sunny day to finish the roll. Stand by for the final shots.

This film produces some amazingly low-grain negatives using Paranol S, giving a relatively flat, neutral image. This allows it to be extremely versatile in development, along with a very forgiving latitude. Suitable for both flat and higher contrast scenes, I've never found an opportunity where I wished I had another film in the back of my Bronica! The results tend to be less gloomy than HP5/Tri-X and the lower speed black and white films like FP4 for which reason I'd mostly recommend this film for architecture and portraits

Foma creative 200 is a great film at an amazing price, my only quarrel is that it's almost always sold out!
