Foma traces its origins back to Prague in 1919. They have remained in the Czech Rupublic ever since, working throughout the past century on different films, papers and chemicals for use by medical schools and the military - as well as ordinary photographers in Eastern Europe. Their black and white films are the result of decades of expertise - you will not be disappointed!

This is my go-to film for general-purpose medium format use, over many years. It's reasonably tolerant (though isn't quite as flexible as claimed with regard to how you can rate it - shoot at 400 IME) and in 120 the grain is pretty much irrelevant. It allows you to shoot reasonably fast at fairly small apertures, which is essential for medium format street photography. I find it particularly well suited to the Holga.
Recommended for both casual and street photography as well as more serious applications that prioritise speed over super fine detail. I would recommend this for beginners in medium format, too.
As someone who traditionally shoot colour negative film stocks, this was a great introduction to Black and White. You get beautifully clean shots, the grain is practically non-existent.
Easy to expose, forgiving I most situations, it gives stunning results at most light conditions. If shoot in bright sunlight, e.g. f22 expect lots of contrast , however if shoot indoors or with less harsh lights expect nice gradations.
I have a batch of Fomopan in 35mm so want to give it a go in medium format....
Can't tell you about the film but as our son requested we buy some, you can be sure he has used it before and has been very pleased with it and the quality.
We shall buy again if requested !
