Kodak - properly known as Kodak Eastman - was founded in America in 1888 and dominated the "Western" world of photography for the next 100 years, constantly in fierce rivalry with the Japanese Fuji. Similarly to Fuji the advent of digital photography at the turn of the century caused significant financial problems. A late attempt to win in the compact market was hit by the rise of mobile photography and bankruptcy followed in 2012. Fortunately the photography business has survived under the Kodak Alaris name - based in Hertfordshire, England - and they have delighted the analogue industry by pledging continued support for film production and the promise of bringing back old favourite emulsions.

Amazing Colour

I've beens using this a portrait project I'm working on and couldn't be happier with this film, the colours are just so beautiful and I love how true to life this slide film is. This film is my new favourite, I have shot it in 35mm, 120 and now 4x5 and I'm hooked.

Better than Velvia

When I returned to (film) photography twelve years ago I was obliged to shoot Velvia 50 / 100 as Ektachrome was discontinued. So glad they've brought it back again. Colours much more realistic and predictable than Velvia. I shoot mostly 35mm, but also 6 x 7 and 5 x 4. It's just a shame the price is becoming prohibitive to the point where I may actually but my first DSLR. Just like running shoes, increased popularity and demand seems to drive prices up rather than down.

Excellent Service

I haven't shot any of my newly delivered Ektacrome 100 5x4 yet as I am stocking up on film for this autumn /winter and spring though I am itching to. However, as ever, the prompt delivery in a funky wee box at a fine price will see me back in Wonderland again
