Kodak - properly known as Kodak Eastman - was founded in America in 1888 and dominated the "Western" world of photography for the next 100 years, constantly in fierce rivalry with the Japanese Fuji. Similarly to Fuji the advent of digital photography at the turn of the century caused significant financial problems. A late attempt to win in the compact market was hit by the rise of mobile photography and bankruptcy followed in 2012.
Fortunately the photography business has survived under the Kodak Alaris name - based in Hertfordshire, England - and they have delighted the analogue industry by pledging continued support for film production and the promise of bringing back old favourite emulsions.
Great film for outdoor colour on a bright, sunny day. The film has a very natural feel to it and is great value. All these images were shot on the south coast this summer using an OM-2N with a 50mm lens.
I loaded my Canon EOS 3000v with Kodak Gold 200 for a holiday in Stockholm. The film performed way, way better than I expected. Using it with buildings, people and athletes at a Diamond League event.
Very pleased with this film and will not hesitate to use it again.

2nd roll of film shot, came out great - highly recommend
I have grown to really love Kodak Gold. I like slightly warmer colours and its especially good for capturing sunset or sunrise. Still reasonably priced and a good allrounder. Often on offer too which is handy. Quick delivery and good quality development and scanning from AW and generally a quick turnaround, sometimes a little slower at peak times of the year, but can't complain; the wait is part of the fun!
