Did a roll of Pro Image in a lunch break up Wells Harbour instead of hitting the chippy.
Bracketed a bit on a dull day while my tummy rumbled and the seagulls looked my way expecting a treat.
The red of the pot buoys shot long on the back of the crab boat just sang with minimal tweaks in post.
Had a feeling it was a decent image, nearly walked back to the car and grabbed a DSLR to do it on so I could have have my chips and eat 'em straight away.
But I decided to savour the suspense and let the Wondies do the cooking.
Now I did experience some PDA - pre-development anxiety - after I'd popped the box in the post.
For Wondies' marketing whizz Emma says this stuff struggles on less-than sunny days in her video review.
And I didn't watch it until I'd actually shot two rolls on, um, less-than sunny days.
But the scans came back done to a turn and some of the wides also went down well in Wonderland by the look of things.
And while it wasn't too warm up Wells, there's just something nice and chilled about taking an hour out to shoot some film on a cloudy day by the harbour.
Even if it means skipping lunch.
Pro Image isn't quite as cheap as chips, which cost £3.75 for a standard portion from one of the chippies by the quay compared to 10 squid a roll.
But when you've had your chips that's your lot.
Whereas I'll probably buy this film again*.
*I went online to make that very purchase, but the Wondies had a Black Friday deal on Portra 160 so I binged on that instead...
