Lomography Redscale 35mm film will bathe your images in beautiful rouge. The clever technique of spooling regular film backwards allows this Lomogaphy redscale 35mm to give your images an incredible mystic red hue.
Setting your camera to different ISO settings (check our film guide for more details on what this means) will dial up and down the redness, allowing you to experiment with over 100 shots of rouge-tinted goodness.
Lomography has been at the forefront of the analogue revolution for decades. Starting in 1992 with some Viennese students falling in love with the aesthetic of a particular Soviet camera (the iconic LC-A) - they founded a movement and a company that would introduce a new generation to the joys of plastic cameras and experiemental film. Periodically innovating new cameras for existing formats - and sometimes bringing back formats specially for their cameras! - they are vibrant and creative

Produces amazing effects. It is not like “normal” colour film and takes some getting used to. Not an everyday film but worth keeping in a second camera.

Lots of potential
It has a lot of potential, especially if you are into producing dystopian scenes. I've only shot one roll to this day but I think getting the exposure correct can be a bit of a challenge, with underexposure being a major concern and stray light being more of a problem than shooting with a normal roll if shooting at night. The other issue is being able to visualise how the scene is going to look like in redscale. Having said that, I think all of these issues can be handled fairly consistently once you have enough experience shooting with this stock.

Perfect for Halloween!
A fun film to experiment with, if your looking for the more intense redscale effect meter for 200 ISO, as metering for 50-100 can reduce the effect, and on longer exposures it can be removed completely.
I did end up with a repeating dotted pattern on uniform areas of the images which is distracting (as shown on the 4th image, I assume this is just a result of rescaling the film and the density of the film back), and there were some light leak effects from the film lifting (causing sproket hole light patched, as shown on my 3rd & 4th images). These imperfections are not necessarily a bad thing, but they are worth baring in mind!

Had a blast playing around with this film. Still need to work out how best to use it but it got the creative juices flowing and I got some keepers so that's all good.

Great film stock
I loved shooting with this film stock. The red effect is something else but if you apply a blue filter it lessens the effect and leaves you with a rather pleasing muted colour pallet.
