The low ISO meant I had to wait until I was on holiday to make use of the roll but the film didn't let me down. Great sharpness and contrast. The speed will make it difficult to shoot in all conditions but a great retro style film.

Blackbird Creative at ISO 64 is the lowest ISO-rated film I've used to date (even my digital camera only goes as low as 100), and so I was eager to see how the roll would turn out. It was probably initially disappointing that the photos were more grainy than expected, but I was actually pleased with that 'film look'; everything I have returned to film photography for!
I relied on the exposure meter of my Nikon F55, and, if using it again on that particular camera, I would take more care and compensate for the highlights, which often seemed overexposed.

A rare three stars from me because it's noisier than a dawn chorus.

Now this is a 64 ISO film, not some super-fast shizz which you know is going to have some lumps and bumps.

But it's grainy enough to feed your chickens, which isn't quite what I was expecting.

So this is a big bye bye Blackbird from me.

Shot this film using my Nikon F4 and rated it at 50 asa the images look nice and clear, and the shadow detail is good. Mainly shot in bright sunshine. This film gives a good range of tones from beep black to pure white and is certainly a film I will use again. I developed this film in Rodinal 1:50 for 8 min to get these results

Highlights can flare if not careful but gorgeous contrast from this film. Really like the results, very atmospheric, and will try again.

Bags of contrast and detail if you've got sufficient light for it. Photos shot a box speed on a bright sunny day

Decided to stray away from my preferred B&W film to try this one out. Well worth it, easy to work with, and provides excellent results. I did muck up with the processing, but that's not the films fault

Being an avid lover of higher contrast films i was excited to try this film having heard of its detail and atmospheric style. I shot the roll at 100 ISO and used it for street photography and some of the results were amazing. However, i was perhaps expecting more from this film as at times detail did fail to impress. But, when you get it right with this film it can create something very unique and i urge people to try this film.

I wasn't that impressed; certainly given the low ISO (and high price) I expected less grain and better tones. Perhaps it didn't like Microphen.

It´s the first time i have used a low speed ISO film and I was shocked I had good negs. I developed the film with Ilfotec DDX and and gambled a bit with developing times. But I was so happy I could get a print with such beautiful details. I could not be more pleased and I would like to but again for flowers and shoot around the house when the weather is bad.

The pictures are taken with a mobile phone so apologies for the quality, the prints are glorious IMHO.

This was the first roll of film I’ve shot in over 15 years - having been a little bored due to my usual shooting being a non-starter due to lockdown, I decided to get myself a little rangefinder (Olympus 35RC) and give film a go. I was instantly impressed when I saw the sheer amount of choice in all the different types of film.
Luckily I had a nice, crisp, bright (but very cold) day to shoot, this was helpful due to the low iso of Blackbird.
I love the sharpness and contrast, it really made the most of the conditions. I will definitely be using it again - if the sun ever reappears!

As soon as I find out this is a high contrast film I have to try it out.
What an amazing film sharp fine grain and high contrast. What more could I ask for.

So I bought a couple just to try some low ISO stuff, and I took the creative message to heart so played around with the lighting. I am really impressed with how the photos have come out, they've preserved the lighting and contrast keeping the mood which I was working with, I was clearing out my Granddads house at the time. With macro shots this is great at capturing the detial. I am now waiting for a good time/shoot to go and use the other one on, it's such a shame they don't do this film in 120 as well. I will have to stock up when I can afford it.

I’m a big fan of Rollei films, particularly Retro 80s and Superpan 200 so, with high hopes for Blackbird Creative I wasn’t disappointed. Shooting with my Nikon FG in poor light in Lyme Regis, just before lockdown was not ideal conditions for a 64 ISO film but I found it incredibly tolerant and produced fine results with rich, dense blacks, fine detail and incredible contrast,
I developed my single role in ID-11 using the standard development times listed and this provided very pleasing results, I will definitely try this film again!

Really liked this film. The grain is almost absent, while the film, for an iso 64, is quite sensitive to light. Beautiful, defined contrast. Happy with the purchase.
