Fomapan 200 is an excellent 120 film that delivers great detail resolution even in difficult lighting conditions - its name will become obvious as you can take your medium format camera and stress it in a variety of creative situations without worrying about loss of contrast.
Foma traces its origins back to Prague in 1919. They have remained in the Czech Rupublic ever since, working throughout the past century on different films, papers and chemicals for use by medical schools and the military - as well as ordinary photographers in Eastern Europe. Their black and white films are the result of decades of expertise - you will not be disappointed!

I must confess that I am a sucker for a bargain, so when I spotted this expired film at a discounted price I had to buy some. One reason for purchasing the Fomapan 200 film was to use it as a test film for a home built 6x17 camera. The film was rated at box speed and processed accordingly in 510 Pyro. I was pleasantly surprised with the results, contrast is average, grain unobtrusive and the film reasonably sharp. Fomapan 200 has only one downside and that is that the emusion surface is relatively soft and as a result is susceptable to scratching. That aside I would use this film again, but for reference and test shots rather than for images of great importance. To sum it up Fomapan 200 is a good all round film, but the soft surface lets it down a little.
